Group 1, MoveForward

Mailing software provider Group 1 Software, Lanham, MD, has updated its MoveForward software. MoveForward 1.3 is a turnkey system that interfaces with the U.S. Postal Service's FastForward database, allowing mailers to meet the USPS' Move Update requirement so they can qualify for automation discounts.

Group 1 said the new version will let users read and write files directly onto a network server without having to purchase new hardware or implementing additional security features. The company said it will give users more flexibility and efficiency, as well as reliable access to the FastForward database.

Output files will be encrypted automatically and decrypted via a password. A stand-alone NT computer, tape drive and GUIs are included with MoveForward. It is compatible with mainframe, AS400, UNIX, Digital and Windows NT.

In other news, Group 1 recently announced a partnership with HotData, Austin, TX, creator of online data clearinghouse systems. The partnership will make HotData the first company to process files over the Internet using MoveForward to access the USPS change-of-address database.
