Group 1 Debuts Data Quality Tool

Group 1 Software announced the availability yesterday of Universal Coder, a tool that helps database owners validate, correct and standardize addresses 220 countries and dependencies.


Universal Coder is the first product built on Group 1's new LESLIE architecture, which allows integration of the firm's data quality services across the enterprise, the company said.


The Universal Coder can process global address data in a single pass including mixed data from numerous countries.


The program supports Java, COM, C, and C++ interfaces and can be integrated into a .NET environment. It is currently available on NT and Unix, including Sun Solaris, HP UX, AIX and Linux.
