Google Checkout Referrals debuts on AdSense publishers' revenue

Google launched Checkout Referrals on AdSense, allowing publishers to generate additional revenue by referring qualified leads to Google Checkout.

AdSense Referrals provide publishers with an additional revenue opportunity and they also increase site visitors' awareness of useful products and services such as Google's AdSense and AdWords and Firefox with Google Toolbar.

"With Google Checkout, online shoppers can quickly and easily buy from stores across the Web and track all orders and shipping in one place," said Brandon McCormick, a Google spokesman.

Publishers add a referral button to their sites to begin earning revenue on a cost-per-acquisition basis.

"Checkout Referrals feature is a natural extension on AdSense that has been requested by many of Google's e-commerce publishers to offer them a new way to monetize their site while increasing their users' awareness of other Google products and services," Mr. McCormick said.
