GirlGeeks to Webcast From Techies Day

GirlGeeks.com, a career Web site for women in information technology, will be a sponsor for the second annual Techies Day IT summit on Oct. 3 in Washington.

GirlGeeks' featured promotional event for the seminar will be a Webcast of a panel forum on the lack of women in the information technology fields. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported this year that women make up nearly half of the workforce but only 28 percent of the IT-employed population.

The panel will feature Napster interim CEO Hank Barry, Markle Foundation President Zoe Baird and ThirdAge Media Chairman Mary Furlong.

GirlGeeks.com, San Francisco, offers an array of IT-related content, including audio and video files of speeches by women in the industry.
