Georgia-Pacific selects BBDO Atlanta for marketing communications

Georgia-Pacific Gypsum LLC has named BBDO Atlanta to handle residential marketing communications for the division.

With the new partnership, BBDO will be responsible for developing business-to-consumer communications for the Atlanta-based manufacturers of building products, tissue, packaging, paper, cellulose and related chemicals.

BBDO was chosen following a competitive review process, in which Georgia-Pacific reviewed pitches from several undisclosed agencies.

This win comes after others for BBDO Atlanta this year, including outdoor retailer REI.

In the past Georgia Pacific has worked with La Agencia de Orci as its Hispanic agency of record and IQ Interactive for creative work.

Last November, the paper manufacturer gained a new president/CEO, Jim Hannan. Hannan was promoted from the position president and COO. Former CEO Joe Moeller, who remains on Georgia-Pacific's board, stepped down to return to Koch Industries, a Georgia-Pacific property, as vice chairman and a member of its board of directors.
