GE Supply's New Catalog Lets Buyers Scan in Orders

The newly released GE Supply product catalog allows customers to scan a barcode to order products online, the company said yesterday.

Users first must buy a portable key fob scanner from GE Supply that connects to a PC in order to use the service. A customer then can log on to its Web site, www.gesupply.com, and scan the product desired into the online shopping cart.

"The barcode catalog is designed to show customers the broad range of products available from GE Supply," said Lou-Anne Annino, GE Supply catalog manager. "Its use allows them to easily find the desired products, either scanning them into the shopping cart on the Web or calling GE Supply to place an order."

Shelton, CT-based GE Supply is a distributor of electrical, voice and datacom equipment and supplies from GE and other manufacturers.
