GE Capital UK Selects Acxiom's AbiliTec

GE Capital Global Consumer Finance UK has chosen Acxiom Corp.'s AbiliTec software to integrate its customer data, Acxiom said yesterday.

AbiliTec will allow GE Capital to have a single, real-time customer view of more than 12 million credit card users, according to Acxiom, a database marketing company based in Little Rock, AR.

GE Capital Global Consumer Finance, London, is a leading worldwide supplier of consumer credit and insurance services. It is one of the largest store-card operators in the United Kingdom, with clients such as Debenhams and House of Fraser. It also offers selected personal finance products and credit cards.

According to Acxiom, AbiliTec will allow GE Capital to link the different dimensions of customer relationships, such as loyalty cards, store cards and retail loans, and to create a single profile of customers and households independently for each retailer to support its customer relationship management program.

Stewart MacPhail, marketing director at GE Capital Global Consumer Finance, said, "It's essential to us and our retailers that we have an accurate and up-to-date view of all of our customer relationships. With the AbiliTec system, we now have access to the technology for doing this, and we have a very clear view of the financial value it will deliver back to the business. What's more, it enables us to offer additional financial products and services for the benefit of our retailers and customers."
