Fundraising Allows Earthnoise.com to Plan Launch

Internet video firm Earthnoise.com yesterday said it would launch its consumer Web site before the summer after recently securing $7.6 million in funds.

The investors, including America Online Inc., have allowed Earthnoise to continue ongoing marketing research as it prepares to gain a foothold in the emerging Internet video market.

Earthnoise, New York, aggregates viewers who want to edit and stream videos over the Web. Viewers will be able to post videos, and the pieces will be organized by topic into various channels at earthnoise.com. The Web site is seeking to attract camcorder owners who want to send their amateur work to friends and family; although, professionals also will be able to use the online service.
