FTC Continues Vonage's Telemarketing Review as 911 Inquiry Drops

The Federal Trade Commission will not pursue any formal action against Internet telephony services provider Vonage Holdings Corp. on its 911 disclosures and telemarketing compliance issues.

Vonage, Holmdel, NJ, June 8 confirmed that the FTC had concluded its investigation into the matter. The federal agency in Jan. 2005 launched an informal investigation into Vonage's 911 and telemarketing compliance initiatives.

The FTC, however, is continuing to seek more information from Vonage related to its telemarketing practices. Vonage is cooperating.

Vonage is one of the leading providers of telephone services through Internet lines. It is sold online and through retailers.
