Nonprofit fundraiser the National Foster Parent Association announced that Ziggy is the organization's new spokescharacter to raise awareness about the need for foster parents, especially during National Foster Care Month in May. Why?Apparently it is because he is plucky, or as put by NFPA executive director Karen Jorgenson in the announcement, "He is such a positive American icon. Ziggy is always determined to weather the storm until things get better, and that is the kind of attitude that we want to convey to our children and youth living in foster care."
