Founders Leave NetZero

NetZero Inc. said this week that founders Ronald Burr, Stacy Haitsuka, Harold McKenzie and Marwan Zebian are leaving the company to start a broadband technology firm called Layer2 Networks.


None of the founders was available for comment.


NetZero, Westlake Village, CA, which has 8.6 million registered users of its free service and more than 100,000 paid users, recently signed a deal with competitor Juno to merge their companies under the moniker United Online.


Mark Goldstein, president/CEO of NetZero, will serve as chairman and president/CEO of United Online.
