Fotolog snaps up StrongMail e-mail platform

Photo blogging Web site Fotolog partnered with e-mail marketing firm StrongMail Systems Inc. to power its e-mail messaging.

Fotolog, New York, generates a high volume of transactional e-mail from member registrations and automatic notifications of blog posts and photo uploads. The social media site has turned to StrongMail, Redwood City, CA, to replace an internal freeware-based system that was previously managing its e-mail.

Fotolog's 8 million members in 200 countries have posted more than 200 million photos and 2 billion questbook comments. Fotolog continues to grow by one million new members every six weeks.

Transactional e-mail messages facilitate member growth, activity and retention, and the user generated site aims to increases deliverability by using the StrongMail platform.

With StrongMail, Fotolog will be able to deliver messages regarding photo-upload confirmations, e-mail posting verifications and new content notifications.
