Former Singer Exec DeLuca Starts List, Insert Firm

Laurie DeLuca has launched a full-service list and insert management company called SMD Media Services Inc. to serve direct mail marketers.

Ms. DeLuca has 11 years' experience in this industry. She was vice president of insert management at Singer Direct, Scarsdale, NY, before leaving to start her company. Before joining Singer, she was vice president of insert management at American List Counsel.

"I noticed that many list and insert vendors in the industry focus their efforts on brokerage or brokerage and management services, but I could not think of many companies that focus strictly on list and insert management services," Ms. DeLuca said from her Mohegan Lake, NY, base.
