Former Quebecor Management Buys Canadian Facilities

Former Quebecor management acquired several of the printer's Canadian facilities through a newly formed company called Grafikom LP, Quebecor World Inc. said yesterday.


Grafikom, Toronto, purchased six commercial and specialty printing facilities for $44.4 million in a management buyout. As a result, Grafikom becomes one of the largest commercial, digital and specialty printing networks in Canada. The new company is led by Aivars Beikmanis, the former president of Quebecor's World Specialty Group in Canada.


Quebecor, Montreal, will continue to provide full web and in-line capability to Grafikom clients while Grafikom will offer sheet-fed and specialty printing to Quebecor clients. Grafikom's divisions include MIL, Graphica, Printpak, Calgary, Jasper and Carlsbad.
