Former Lands' End Worker Accused of Fraud Using Customer Information

A former Lands' End teleservices representative and another woman face mail-fraud charges in the alleged misuse of identities and credit card information of Lands' End customers.

A federal grand jury Jan. 7 charged Angelique Reddick, 29, of Cross Plains, WI, and Jennifer Alt, 23, of Plain, WI, with four counts of mail fraud, according to J.B. Van Hollen, U.S. attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin.

The indictment alleges that Reddick, a seasonal employee who worked at the cataloger from September to December, obtained the credit card numbers and other information of the victims while taking orders. She is accused of using the information to order Lands' End merchandise sent to Alt's address in Plain and elsewhere.

From Nov. 26 to Dec. 3, Reddick placed orders for Lands' End merchandise totaling more than $1,700, according to the indictment. Reddick is accused of applying for seasonal employment at Lands' End as part of the plan to defraud consumers.

After investigating a customer complaint, Lands' End alerted the FBI and the U.S. Postal Service.

"As soon as we had reason to believe there was illegal activity, we immediately notified the holders of the credit cards as well as the FBI," Lands' End spokeswoman Ann Woolman said. "There is no indication that any other customers' credit card information was compromised."

If convicted, they each face a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 as well as an order for restitution on each count.
