Former Harte-Hanks Executive to Head CMG Direct

Direct marketing concern Marketing Services Group Inc., New York, yesterday named Thomas M. Smith president of its CMG Direct Inc. subsidiary, a direct marketing and Internet services firm MSGI acquired in March.


Smith, a former executive with Harte-Hanks Inc., San Antonio, and CPS Direct, Woburn, MA, has more than 21 years of direct marketing experience. He succeeds Robert Scott, who will be vice president of strategic planning at MSGI's Wired Empire Internet marketing subsidiary.


Smith spent 11 years with Harte-Hanks Data Technologies as senior vice president of sales and marketing and four years with CPS Direct as executive vice president of sales and marketing.
