Fitigues Site Down for Update After Chico's Acquisition

The Web site for multichannel apparel merchant Fitigues is down while its new parent, Chico's FAS, updates "some out-of-date information," Chico's chief financial officer Charles J. Kleman said. Improvements also are being made to the site, according to a message posted on fitigues.com.

Kleman said he didn't know how long the Web site would be down.

Chico's, Fort Myers, FL, said Monday that it acquired most of the assets of the retail brand Fitigues, Scottsdale, AZ. Fitigues sells casual clothes, including some for men and children, similar to Chico's, in 14 stores, a catalog and its e-commerce site, which features an online catalog. Chico's will acquire only 12 of Fitigues' 14 stores.

The Fort Myers News-Press said the acquisition was paid for with cash and cost less than $10 million.

"By bringing Fitigues under the Chico's umbrella, we can provide the necessary capital, back-office operations assistance and leverage needed to successfully expand this brand across America over the next several years," Chico's president/CEO Scott A. Edmonds said in a statement.
