Firstlogic Inc., La Crosse, WI, and Language Analysis Systems, Herndon, VA, announced an alliance yesterday that lets each organization position and refer the other's technology in selling opportunities worldwide.

LAS' name-recognition technology, which includes a suite of tools for parsing, cleansing, matching and scoring name information, will complement Firstlogic's data quality software technology, including components for profiling, analysis, standardization, matching and consolidation of both customer and business data.

LAS' name-recognition technology enhances the process of identifying multicultural personal names in databases and text.

By incorporating LAS' technologies to work in conjunction with its data quality suite, Firstlogic will offer advanced capabilities for managing all aspects of customer data, including global variations of name information. The combined solution helps technology and business users:

· Reduce potential fraudulent activities.

· Decrease false-positive identification of individuals on government or international law enforcement watch lists.

· Lower costs associated with implementing regulatory-compliant processes that ensure an organization is not conducting business with known criminals.
