First Union to Offer Tax Program Online
First Union, Charlotte, NC, launched an online tax center yesterday. The center provides access to online tax preparation and electronic filing services for tax year 1999.The bank will offer Quicken TurboTax for the web to its customers through firstunion.com. The program allows taxpayers to prepare and file all the same federal and state income tax returns as the TurboTax desktop program.
"First Union's online tax center is another example of customer-focused, value added products on the web," said David Carroll, First Union's chief e-commerce officer. "With our growing base of online customers, providing secure and quick online tax preparation and filing is the next logical step to enhance our Web site for the customer."
