First Union, Tessera Form Data Warehouse

First Union Corp., Charlotte, NC, and Tessera Enterprise Systems, Wakefield, MA, have joined forces with IBM, Informix and SAS to create a customer-focused data warehouse geared toward the financial industry.

According to the companies, the warehouse will allow for quick access to data and reduce the amount of time spent on modeling and analysis.

It will offer a relationship-level analysis of customer data, correlating customer needs and product and delivery preferences, and then predict future buying trends.

First Union's Knowledge-Based Marketing Group and Customer Direct Access Division will offer modeling services. The Knowledge-Based Marketing Group will also provide profitability analysis of product development, new delivery channels and acquisition planning.
