First Data Acquires Internet Payment Firm Achex
First Data Corp., a Denver-based provider of electronic commerce and payment services, this week acquired Achex Inc., an online payments provider, for an undisclosed amount.The acquisition provides First Data with an Internet technology infrastructure that will integrate with many online payment services.
Achex is known for its online checking account-based services for businesses. The company's services use the Internet and existing payment networks to transfer funds online.
