Fingerhut Launches Spanish-Language Catalog in Chicago

Fingerhut Companies Inc., Minnetonka, MN, yesterday began test-mailing a Spanish-language catalog dubbed Fingerhut En Espanol in the Chicago area. The catalog's cover features Chicago Cubs star Sammy Sosa. Last year, the multi-title catalog company mailed nearly 9 million Spanish catalogs and this year plans to mail 18 different Spanish catalogs. The company added bilingual customer service representatives and a new call center in Tucson, AZ. Fingerhut also plans to launch a Spanish-language Web site. The catalog launch will include a full-scale ad campaign including Spanish-language newspaper, TV, radio and outdoor ads. Merchandise in the catalog includes jewelry, housewares, clothing and electronics.
