FEDMA Plans Educational Foundation

FEDMA, the Federation of European Direct and Interactive Marketing, announced yesterday that it plans to start a foundation to encourage the promotion and improvement of direct and interactive marketing education in Europe.

FEDMA has an education project in place. Courses offered by universities and institutes are certified to deliver European diplomas and certificates in direct marketing and related disciplines.

The foundation would build on that project by increasing and improving the levels of DM education in European universities and colleges. Other planned activities for the foundation include a FEDMA Summer School and providing career advice to students. FEDMA also will encourage companies to hire interns.

To achieve certification, courses must cover certain core competencies, have a European outlook and a commitment to self-improvement. Currently, 17 courses in Europe have FEDMA certification.
