FedEx Pilots Plan Picketing in Alaska

FedEx Corp. pilots represented by the Air Line Pilots Association International will conduct informational picketing today at the entrance to the FedEx sorting facility in Anchorage, AK, to show their frustration with the slow pace of contract talks, the union said yesterday.

More than 250 FedEx pilots are based in Anchorage.

The pilots are in their 17th month of negotiations. The current working agreement took effect May 31, 1999, and became amendable under the Railway Labor Act on May 31, 2004.

FedEx has said that the pilots are the highest paid in the world and that the company is working to negotiate a fair contract.
