FedEx International Priority Service Enhanced for Exports to Europe

FedEx Express said this week that it has enhanced its International Priority Direct Distribution service.

The feature, Single Point of Clearance, simplifies the export process by requiring only one set of paperwork and allowing for customs clearance through one point of entry.

The enhancement can accelerate customers' distribution to within two to four days and reduce order-to-delivery cycles by up to four to 12 days, FedEx said.

The change will benefit manufacturers of semiconductors, automotive parts, consumer electronics and durable manufacturers as well as producers of apparel, toys, computers and computer peripherals and pharmaceuticals, FedEx said.

Origin countries for IPD include the United States, China, the Hong Kong region, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Taiwan. Destination countries are Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom.
