FedEx Expands South Korean Flights
FedEx currently operates 20 weekly South Korean flights via Inchon International Airport.
Five of the new flights connect Inchon directly to Subic Bay, the Philippines -- home of the FedEx AsiaOne hub, which provides customers with connectivity to all 215 countries in the FedEx global network. Adding the direct flights lets the company extend its drop-off times for outbound shipments to Asian and U.S. destinations by two hours.
Asia continues to be one of the fastest-growing international regions for FedEx. In the company's 2004 second quarter, FedEx International Priority's average daily package volume grew 4 percent year over year, led by 11 percent growth in Asian export volume.
This is the latest in a recent series of expanded service offerings FedEx has made in Asia. Others include six additional flights between Hong Kong and the FedEx European hub in Paris; additional frequencies between Hong Kong and Subic Bay; and enhanced services to Japan that provide U.S. and European customers with shortened package-transit times.
