FedEx Debuts Online Duty and Tax Estimator

FedEx Corp., Memphis, unveiled an online duty and tax estimator yesterday as part of its Internet-based FedEx Global Trade Manager.

According to FedEx, the estimator gives international shippers an easier, more affordable way to estimate governmental charges, duties and other fees associated with inbound and outbound overseas shipments.

The service costs $5 each time a customer uses it. Additional payment plans include $45 for 10 uses in a 31-day period or $400 for 100 uses a year.

The estimator also offers the Harmonized System Code, an internationally accepted system for classifying goods for customs, statistical reporting and other purposes.
