Fair Isaac Corp. announced plans yesterday to acquire Braun Consulting Inc. for $30 million. The acquisition, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter after both boards' approval, is expected to strengthen Fair Isaac's marketing analytics services.

Braun, Chicago, offers expertise in customer relationship management, product strategy and organizational consulting. Steven Braun, founder CEO of his self-named consultancy, will continue to work under Fair Isaac after the deal's completion.

With Braun in its fold as a wholly owned subsidiary, Fair Isaac, San Rafael, CA, also expects to grow its client base in categories like retail, pharmaceuticals and healthcare.
