Facebook's marketing director to leave post

Facebook's director of marketing Randi Zuckerberg has resigned, the company said on August 3. All Things Digital first reported news of Zuckerberg's departure.

According to a resignation letter obtained by the news site and dated August 3, Zuckerberg said that she plans to launch a start-up company RtoZ Media.

“My goal is to launch my own innovative programming and work with media companies to develop their programming in new, and more social ways,” said Zuckerberg in the letter. “In attacking this challenge, Facebook will clearly be a central element in all of my projects. I plan to demonstrate that ANYONE [sic] can do groundbreaking media work on the platform.  And to the extent it makes sense for you, I'd be happy to advise Facebook on media projects, ‘Facebook Live' or other initiatives if it is desired.”

Zuckerberg is CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg's sister.
