Facebook today moved all brand pages onto the Timeline, the profile layout the company unveiled last year, the company said on its website.

The new design is intended to allow companies to brand their page with cover photos and pertinent news updates, Facebook said. Companies and individuals may also use several different apps to accentuate their pages including Pinterest, Ticketmaster and TripAdvisor, said Facebook Project Manager Carl Sjogreen in a January blog post. Facebook first launched Timeline in Sept. 2011.

Facebook claimed Timeline should help companies “highlight what matters” for their consumers and “manage everything in one place” by allowing them to respond to consumers as their comments appear on their page in real time.

“People who visit your Page will have a more personalized experience because they'll see how their friends have interacted with you,” said Facebook. “If someone tags you in one of their posts or checks in at your location, the people they originally shared with will all see these stories highlighted for them on your timeline.”

To help businesses adjust to the changes, Facebook has designed several tutorials.
