Experian to Lay Off 200 Employees

Experian North America confirmed yesterday that it will lay off 200 employees, or 3 percent of its 6,000-person North American workforce.

Matthew Bessler, an Experian spokesman, said he did not have details about which departments will be affected or when the cuts would occur.

"Because of the challenges presented as a result of the recession, we felt it was necessary for us to take certain steps to balance the need to build our enterprise and realize strategic business goals, while continuing the ongoing effort to control our cost base," Bessler said.
