Experian Provides Data in Citibank Credit-Report Campaign

Database marketing firm Experian is participating in a Citibank promotion providing free credit reports to college students.

Experian, one of the nation's top consumer credit agencies, will provide data for personalized credit reports to Citibank's college student cardmembers. As part of the initiative, Citibank released the results of a survey of 1,000 college students that found that 74 percent had never seen their credit report.

The promotion is part of Citibank's Credit-ED program, which provides follow-up support and education for student credit cardholders. Citibank, New York, claims to be the largest provider of credit cards in the United States.

Terms of the agreement between Experian and Citibank were not disclosed. Orange, CA-based Experian manages databases on consumers, businesses, motor vehicles and property.
