Experian Acquires Retail Analytics Firm

Experian, Costa Mesa, CA, said yesterday that it has acquired Prediction Analytics, a provider of performance modeling, sales forecasting and location analytical solutions for the retail, restaurant, banking and telecommunications industries. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

Prior to the purchase, Experian and PAI had an international marketing agreement in place. Experian's data will now be incorporated into the PAI system.

Some existing PAI clients include U.S. retailers such as Rite Aid, Kirkland's Home Furnishings, Cracker Barrel and Books-A-Million. The company recently launched in the European market as well.

"By combining PAI's predictive modeling with Experian's data and analytics, we can deliver a more robust range of solutions and consulting expertise to clients seeking to develop global retail networks," said Deborah Zuccarini, the group president of Experian Marketing Solutions.
