Experian Acquires QAS

Experian, Nottingham, United Kingdom, a global information solutions company, said yesterday that it acquired QAS Ltd., London, for $189 million, which includes $28.5 million of cash reserves.

QAS is the developer of the QuickAddress line of international address management software. With revenue of $87.4 million by June 2004, 8,800 customers worldwide and 370 employees, QAS represents the largest acquisition Experian has made in the UK, according to Experian.

"This is one of the 10 largest acquisitions in the UK software and services sector this year," said Richard Fiddis, managing director of Experian UK and Ireland. "It supports our strategy to invest in market-leading, high-growth companies that add scale and enhance the breadth and depth of our activities to help our clients find, develop and manage profitable customer relationships."

QAS will be known as "QAS, an Experian company" within Experian's Marketing Services division and will continue to be led by Simon Worth, CEO of QAS.
