Experian acquires Inform@rketing

Experian has purchased Inform@rketing, a provider of direct marketing services in Brazil.

Informarketing is based in Sao Paulo and was founded in 1995 to provide direct marketing services to financial institutions. Its services include database management; mailing-list analysis and cleansing; data enhancement and enrichment; and marketing campaign management.

Costa Mesa, CA-based Experian provides analytical and information services to organizations and consumers to help manage the risk and reward of commercial and financial decisions. This acquisition demonstrates Experian's continued expansion initiatives in Brazil.

Rick Gallagher, executive vice president of Experian's Latin America group, said Informarketing will complement Experian's global expertise in the areas of marketing services, database management and client acquisition analytics. He said Inform@rketing was a good fit with Experian's other client-oriented businesses in Brazil, such as its Decision Analytics' group.

Inform@rketing said the marketing industry has experienced rapid growth in Brazil with a compound annual growth rate of 12.4 percent from 2000 to 2006 and 18 percent from 2005 to 2006.

Experian said the acquisition is consistent with its global strategy of acquiring complementary businesses that provide new products, new data or entry into new vertical or regional markets, while leveraging its core assets.
