Experian Acquires 2 Consumer Credit Bureaus

Experian announced its acquisition yesterday of the consumer credit assets of Credit Bureau of Southern Utah and Centroplex Credit Reporting and Collections Inc.

Experian had existing relationships with both companies before the acquisition.

"Both of these affiliate bureaus have been valuable partners with us by providing quality products and local service to clients in their communities," said Rick Gallagher, senior vice president of corporate development for Experian. "By integrating the consumer credit assets of these two organizations with Experian, we can provide both existing and prospective clients the benefits of Experian's extensive data resources and comprehensive business services."

The credit bureaus are in St. George, UT, and Killeen, TX.

Centroplex's collections operation will continue to function as a separate business, according to Experian.

Financial details of the transactions were not made public.
