Evergreen to Show Clicks-and-Mortar Software

E-commerce software company Evergreen Inc. is expected to demonstrate its latest online marketing system at the Internet and Electronic Commerce Conference & Exposition Tuesday in New York. The product was formally announced this week.

The Chandler, AZ-based firm says its Java/XML-based transactions and inventory software enable companies to integrate online and offline sales, which will attract bricks-and-mortar merchants that are looking to go online. In addition, the program generates offline revenue via Web sites, said executive VP Dave Clare, because an increasing number of online shoppers were comparing prices between Internet-only retailers and national clicks-and-mortar firms - weighing shipping-and-handling charges in their decision on where to make purchases. "If a guy looking for a shirt can get one for $50 online and $30 down the street - where is he going to go?" Clare said.
