Estee Lauder Buys Gloss.com as Part of New Web Strategy

Estee Lauder said yesterday it acquired beauty site gloss.com and will expand its Internet presence.

The company said its brands will be available exclusively on the multibrand beauty Web site and its brand-specific sites and in "store-within-store" sections of some retailer sites.

The multibrand site is expected to launch by early next year, and Estee Lauder's ELC online unit will develop microsites for certain retailers that sell Estee Lauder's products through their own sites.
