Epsilon, a customer relationship management marketing provider with a print production operation, installed a Nipson 8000 digital printing system at its location in Irving, TX, Nipson said yesterday.

The system is expected to produce 4 million feet of variable-data direct mail pieces monthly, Nipson said.

Epsilon's operations manager said the firm sought a high-speed printer capable of using a variety of substrates including tipped-on cards, labels, integrated cards, heavier stocks and pressure-sensitive labels.

The financial value of the installation was not disclosed.

Nipson 8000 presses are capable of printing 600 dpi at speeds of up to 231 feet per minute, according to Nipson. The press can handle paper weights from 17-pound bond to 100-pound tag or polyester, foils, thermosensitive and carbonless stocks, and self-adhesive labels, with a maximum width of 18.5 inches.
