Engage to Offer PromoManager Software for Online Promotions

Engage Inc. next month plans to release PromoManager, a software program that allows e-commerce sites to create and send promotional campaigns easily across the Web.

Using anonymous online profiles, promotional campaigns can be targeted using online behavior, shopping cart contents, abandoned shopping carts and geography, Engage said. The software also includes inventory and near real-time reporting capabilities.

"PromoManager is designed to be simple for marketing professionals to use without having to rely on the help of the technical department," said Jeff Weiner, Engage's director of product marketing. "It also makes it easy to do co-op advertising."

Weiner said PromoManager includes a re-targeting module that lets marketers target users even if they are on another Web site. The anonymous profiles built by users of PromoManager are synchronized with the profiles that Engage stores in its database of network affiliates.

"It can re-target visitors to your Web site who don't provide any information about themselves," he said. "It can target them when they are on other sites in our network. This is something no one else has."

Weiner said PromoManager is scheduled to be available in July and will be priced based on the number of promotional campaigns a marketer is planning on running. The price is expected to be $20,000 to $100,000, he said.

"Converting visitors to buyers is a major challenge for e-businesses," he said. "With PromoManager, you can hit a shopper at various touch points, get them to come back to your site and close the loop with a sale."
