Engage, POPcast Debut Streaming Media Ad Network

Engage Inc., Andover, MA, has teamed with Webcaster POPcast Communications Corp., Los Angeles, to launch a streaming media advertising network that enables clients to insert targeted, rich media ads into POPcast's network of streamed audio and video Webcasts.


POPcast, which launched the network last week, said it would use Engage's AdManager software for targeting. The streamed Webcasts use Microsoft Corp.'s Windows Media technology. The first companies to begin inserting video and audio ads in POPcast video streams are British Telecom, Intel, Microsoft and JVC.


POPcast also said it would offer AdTraffickers' outsourced ad monitoring and management services to its clients. AdTraffickers offers a way for clients to outsource their ad management services rather than do it inhouse.
