Empire Media Buys OneFN

Empire Media Inc., publisher of the Empire business magazine, has bought the operational assets of OneFN, an online financial direct marketing network.

The acquisition by the New York company comes four months after it snatched Mighty Seven Networks, an online marketing and promotions company.

"Empire intends to aggressively acquire print and electronic media properties that fit our business plan," Empire CEO Chris Travers said in a statement.

OneFN's network comprises more than 3 million opt-in e-mail members and a dozen sites, including ThomsonFN, Tradetek and Stockhouse. Advertisers can place ads on sites in the OneFN network.

Empire said it plans to increase OneFN's number of financial Web site partners to broaden the marketing reach for advertisers.
