Tagged.com monetizes e-mail by tapping Adknowledge

Social networking site Tagged.com is monetizing its user-generated e-mail through a new partnership with Adknowledge AdStation.

With the Adknowledge alliance, Tagged.com, San Francisco, is inserting behaviorally targeted text ads, or tag lines, into the footer of users' e-mail correspondence.

AdStation for Taglines is Adknowledge's behavioral targeting technology that can add taglines to various kinds of e-mails in insert-text-based footer ads. It works in user-to-user generated e-mails, system notifications, newsletters and weather alerts.

The platform also features application ad capabilities, as well as search, banners and e-mail marketing messaging.

Tagged.com is a teen-only online hangout site that aims to beat out MySpace and Facebook by allowing only teens in the network.

IT features basic social networking capabilities such as user profiles with photos and videos, as well as a city search option where teens can search out others by city.

By using the new Adknowledge platform the social network aims to monetize the interactions between the teens.
