Electronics Web Site Shuts Down
Manchester Technologies Inc. closed its consumer electronics web site, Marketplace4u.com, on Friday.A message on the company's Web site said its customer support team would continue to fulfill all open orders and answer questions, but details of the shutdown were not disclosed.
Manchester, a business-to-business computer reseller in Hauppauge, NY, does not expect any financial impact on its operations as a result of closing the four-year-old site. Personnel assigned to the site will be reassigned to other divisions within the firm.
"We plan to leverage the e-commerce principles and strategies learned from our experience with Marketplace4u by integrating those principles into our core business," said Barry Steinberg, president/CEO of Manchester.
