EGolf.com Tees Off With Emerson Gerard

Emerson Gerard Associates, Palm Beach, FL, will create an online product marketing campaign for eGolf.com, an e-tailer of golf clubs and equipment. The first assignment is for Christmas sales, after which Emerson hopes to be confirmed for a long-term relationship.

EGolf offers an array of products for golfers, including branded merchandise at discounts, and auctions for used equipment.

Emerson, which bagged the account following an eGolf shareholder's recommendation, initially plans to target the online golfing community and drive pre-qualified traffic to the site, www.egolf.com. Plans call for converting these visitors into paying customers.

Tactics to be used for ramping up pre-Christmas awareness include e-mails and public relations.

"Besides what we're doing online, we keep pounding all the message boards and newsgroups, any place we've got golfers hanging out," said Jerry Jennings, director of business development at Emerson.
