Egghead.com Makes Deal With CNET

Online computer retailer Egghead.com, Spokane, WA, has announced a marketing agreement with Internet media company CNET, San Francisco.

CNET will provide Egghead.com with retail links on sites such as search.com, gamecenter.com and download.com. It also will offer marketing support to Egghead.com and its subsidiary auction site, Surplusauction.com, on its network of Internet sites. In addition, there will be television commercials on the USA Network and the Sci-Fi Channel. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Egghead.com, formerly Egghead Inc., announced last month that it will close its 80 remaining retail stores throughout the country, shifting all retail operations to the Internet.
