Eddie Bauer Hires Carat Fusion as Interactive AOR

Apparel retailer Eddie Bauer tapped Carat Fusion, San Francisco, as its interactive agency of record. The agency, formerly known as Carat Interactive, is to offer consumer insight, online media planning and buying, and data intelligence via its Citadel product.


Eddie Bauer, an 85-year-old retail, catalog and online brand recovering from a tumultuous few years involving its former Spiegel parent, looks to use fresh interactive marketing to ensure it fits in with customers' and prospects' active outdoors lifestyle.


Carat Fusion begins media and data intelligence work right away even as it deliberates Eddie Bauer's online marketing strategy for next year. Citadel will play a key role in aggregating data from different sources to offer a view of the consumer from point of first impression to the most recent transaction.


Carat Fusion clients include Kodak, Hyundai, Pfizer, RadioShack, adidas and Gateway. The agency is a subsidiary of Aegis' Isobar interactive marketing agency network.
