EchoStar, OpenTV, Wink in Broadcast Alliance
EchoStar Communications Corp., OpenTV Corp. and Wink Communications have agreed to share revenue generated through a broadcasting alliance, the companies said yesterday.The agreement enables OpenTV's interactive software to deliver Wink's broadcasting features to EchoStar's Dish Network satellite customers. Wink's broadcasting features include enhanced programming and advertising capabilities. The deal includes an initial launch of Wink services on OpenTV by 2001. The services could reach as many as 4 million homes by 2003.
