Ecards.com, E-Cards Reach Deal Over Name

Ecards.com Inc. and E-Cards have ended their yearlong battle over the similarities in their corporate names.

E-Cards, San Francisco, will keep its corporate name and Web site, www.e-cards.com, as a result of the deal. However, Ecards.com, Toronto, is expected to announce its new corporate name and Internet address today.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

In May, a federal court awarded E-Cards a $4 million settlement against Ecards.com for unfair competition practices. Ecards.com appealed the verdict before coming to an agreement with E-Cards.
