EBay Offers Will Ride on Domino's Pizza Boxes

Domino's Pizza will introduce its customers to eBay through a deal announced yesterday.

The Ann Arbor, MI-based chain will use its pizza boxes to deliver back-to-school and college football offers from eBay, the world's leading auction site.

Both promotions drive Domino's customers to eBay's site. This is yet another example of San Jose, CA-based eBay allying with bricks-and-mortar brands to enlarge its registered base of more than 75 million users.

For the first promotion, which began this week, 15 million Domino's box tops will carry the back-to-school offers. A Domino's customer will win 1 million eBay Anything Points, equal to $10,000 to spend on items on eBay.

In related offers, customers get a chance to win one of 100 Domino's gift certificates worth $10 each. They also can get discounts on the purchase of textbooks at eBay's fixed-price store, Half.com, and a special incentive on eBay's computer category.

The "Stay True to Your School" college football campaign will be delivered through an extra 15 million box tops.

A special prize in the football effort is the Ultimate Homecoming Trip. Worth $15,000, it awards the winner and five friends a trip to a college football game with $6,000 in cash, airfare, hotel, rental car and game tickets.

Also, 10 recipients stand a chance to get a $500 Domino's gift certificate, and 100 winners will get a $10 equivalent.
